What’s Next For Microsoft and Yahoo?
Some intelligent thoughts on Microsoft’s Yahoo-deal back out from Macworld. I was struck by the extreme strangeness of the proposal from the start and have consequently followed it somewhat closely. The whole thing now looks like something of a double backfire. I’m very interested to see what will come of it all.

The maker of the excellent utility, Hazel, has published a candid write up of his experience participating in the Mac update bundle. Hardware test gives you the lowdown on the physical state of your Mac. On the newest models - MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and MacBook - holding down D during boot up will enter your machine into Hardware Test without needing a disk. Good to know.
TUAW reminds readers of the utility MultiFireFox 2.0, which allows users to run multiple versions of Firefox (good for web devs and those who need some plugin for FF that isn’t currently supported by the newest release).
