In a World of Fuzzy Time…
I’m sitting in my empty classroom with exactly 14 minutes left until I can punch out and head home for the weekend. You could say that I’m watching the clock quite closely.
But it’s not always like this! Consider your daily routine: for how many tasks are you required to be punctual to the minute? Surely, many people do operate under such restrictions, but if your lucky enough to the among those not tied to a byzantine schedule, you probably don’t need to know that it is exactly 4:27:49 in the afternoon – half-past four will do.
FuzzyClock is a menu bar utility that gives you just such an approximation of the current time. Readings like half past three, shortly after nine and a few minutes to six are a bit warmer and more human than the exactitude of the standard. If there’s a certain time of the day that you do need the correct time (as I do in order to make it to work in the morning) FuzzyClock lets you define it in the preferences.
